• Four charged with hindering apprehension in Toms River (newportdispatch.com) — Toms River residents are learning that four people from nearby towns have been charged with hindering the capture of a man accused of murdering two Toms River residents. Prosecutors say the group helped the suspect avoid arrest or misled investigators after the Sept. 18 killing, and one of them remains a fugitive while others are jailed awaiting court hearings.
   

• Former EMT Indicted On Attempted Murder Charges After Police Shooting (jerseyshoreonline.com) — A former Toms River resident and longtime South Toms River EMT has been indicted on three attempted murder charges after an April confrontation where police shot and arrested him outside a Dover Road home. Prosecutors say he arrived from Maine armed and wearing body armor, and investigators later found additional weapons in his vehicle; he remains jailed while the case proceeds.
