Wiggle Room Offers Play Space Without Screens In Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The colder days of fall and winter that discourage people from going outdoors can bring on cabin fever, especially for those with young children.

An Ocean County mom of twins hopes people will find her child-focused playroom a place that welcomes them and their children for an afternoon of fun.

Wiggle Room, which opened in early 2026, offers a variety of play areas and activities for toddlers to children up to 12 years old. It is owned by Rachel Greenberg, a 29-year-old mom from Jackson.

"I wanted a place where I could bring my own children, where they could play, explore, and use their imaginations, and where I could actually enjoy spending time too," Rachel said, adding that having her twins really helped shape her vision for the space.

"One of the biggest things for me was creating a completely screen-free environment," Rachel said. "We designed Wiggle Room with soft, muted pastel colors, no flashing lights, and no loud music. I wanted it to feel calm and welcoming rather than overstimulating, while still giving kids plenty to do."

There are rooms geared for toddlers, for pretend play, and for sensory play for children who need a different environment. There's a bead room for older children, and there are places for parents and guardians to sit comfortably and watch their children.

There also is a food court offering options for longer days spent at the site.

"We put a lot of thought into every detail," she said. The space also hosts birthday parties and family gatherings, and Rachel said they are working to add more activities for older children.

"It’s been a big process bringing the vision to life, but seeing families enjoy the space has been so rewarding," she said.

Wiggle Room is at 2066 Lakewood Road in Toms River and is open Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
