• Saddle Up for Girls' Night Out 2026: Your Official Guide to Enjoy the Night (tapinto.net) — Union residents can head to Union Center this Friday, August 7, for Girls’ Night Out, a country-themed evening packed with live music, line dancing, workshops, and big one-night-only deals from more than 30 local merchants. Check-in for Union residents starts at 5 p.m. at Town Hall’s lot, with free shirts and goodie bags while supplies last. It’s a chance to support downtown businesses and enjoy a lively summer night close to home.
   

• Elizabeth M. Bachefski (villages-news.com) — Union residents are remembering Elizabeth “Betty” Bachefski, who was born in Newark, grew up in Union, and helped found Holy Spirit Church and School here while raising her family. Her life of service spanned Girl Scout leadership in Union, parish work in Florida, and charitable sponsorships abroad. Loved ones are invited to honor her at a Funeral Mass in Florida on August 17, with burial to follow in New Jersey.
