• Women's Flag Football Tops Montana in Garden Clash (keanathletics.com) — Kean University’s women’s flag football team notched a big win over Montana during the Garden State Garden City Classic played right here in Union. Standout performances from Sela Lefler and Jazriel Miranda powered the victory, even though Kean later fell to St. Joseph’s in the nightcap. The team now heads to Staten Island next Sunday to close the regular season.
   

• Sherrill proposes $49M expansion of newborn nurse home visit program statewide (wrnjradio.com) — Families in Union County are slated to gain access to New Jersey’s free universal newborn nurse home visit program in January 2027, under Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s proposed budget. The $49 million expansion of Family Connects NJ aims to improve maternal and infant health, especially for Black and Hispanic mothers, by offering in‑home nurse visits, screenings, and connections to local resources statewide.
