Swatting Calls Under Investigation In Wall, Police Say

Authorities are investigating after phone threats were recently made toward local schools.

WALL, NJ — Authorities are investigating after phone threats were recently made toward local schools.

In an online post, Wall Police said they're working in conjunction with school staff to investigate the calls.

At this time, there is no immediate danger to students or staff, and the calls appear to be part of a series of "swatting" incidents, police said.

"Swatting" is when false reports are made that are designed to provoke an emergency response.

"The Wall Township Police Department is actively investigating the calls," police said. "There is currently no credible threat to the safety of our schools or community."

These swatting incidents weren't just reported in Wall Township either.

In Howell Township, schools were ordered to shelter in place on Tuesday after receiving what were later determined to be swatting calls, and in Brick Township, police also reported a swatting incident at a local private school.
