Got A Well? Warren Well Water Testing Event Set for June 8-12
Test kits for coliform bacteria, lead, PFAS, radon and more are available; homes built before 1987 should test for lead.
WARREN, NJ - Warren Township residents with private wells can pick up water testing kits through Raritan Headwaters' Community Well Testing Program from June 8-12, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 3 Mountainview Road, Suite 102.
Water samples must be returned to the Warren Municipal Complex, 46 Mountain Blvd., on June 15 between 7 and 9:30 a.m.
The program, offered in partnership with the Middle-Brook Regional Health Commission and the Borough of Watchung, provides testing for a range of contaminants at the following prices:

Basic kit (coliform bacteria, E. coli and nitrate): $70. Annual testing recommended.
Lead: $30. All homes built before 1987 should have drinking water tested for lead.

Arsenic: $35. Testing recommended every three to five years.
Iron/Manganese: $45. May cause rust stains or a metallic taste.
Radon: $65. Radon in well water is a common issue; at least one test is recommended.
Gross Alpha (uranium and radium): $85.
- PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances): $295.
