Dead Body Found In North Jersey River, Officials Say
The body appeared to be in the water for a long time, according to the report.
PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A dead body has been recovered from the Passaic River, according to fire officials.
On Thursday, around 8 a.m., a body was reported near Monroe Street Bridge in Passaic near the border with Garfield, according to Passaic City Fire Chief Patrick Trentacost.
Specifically, the body was found on the riverbanks underneath the Monroe Street Bridge, Trentacost added.

Fire officials were able to pull the body from the river and sent it to the Medical Examiner's Office for evaluation.
The body, which appeared to be a man, was in the water for "an extended period of time," according to NJ.com.

Crime scene investigators with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office are looking into the incident.
