New Principal Named At Wayne Township Middle School (patch.com) — Wayne families will see a familiar face leading Schuyler-Colfax Middle School this fall, as longtime district educator Nicole Rodriguez steps into the principal role. The Board of Education also named a new assistant superintendent of human resources and a director of student support services, ahead of the Sept. 8 first day of school in Wayne.
   

2. The 2007 Wayne Valley Football Team, Bligh and Johnson, Inducted into the WV Hall of Fame (tapinto.net) — Wayne Valley football just honored longtime assistant Walter Johnson, standout QB/DB Derrick Bligh, and the powerhouse 2007 team at a preseason banquet in town. The celebration linked past and present as the Indians gear up for their 2026 opener against Rancocas Valley on Friday, Aug. 28 at Ocean City's Battle at the Beach showcase.

From Nursing to Law Enforcement — Wayne's Newest Police Officer is Sworn-In (tapinto.net) — Wayne has sworn in its newest police officer, former nurse Frank Piserchia, under the township's updated recruitment process that taps candidates already in a New Jersey police academy. Township leaders praised his medical background and emphasized their commitment to promptly replacing retiring or resigning officers to keep the department fully staffed.

Mall Parking Is No Longer Always Free as Shopping Centers Charge for Prime Spaces – [your]NEWS (yournews.com) — If you shop at Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, you'll now see 119 preferred parking spots near the entrance that cost at least $2.45 for the first hour while most spaces remain free.
