5 Students, Bus Driver Taken To Hospital After NJ Crash: Authorities

The crash near South Broad Street involved 2 vehicles.

CLAYTON, NJ — Five students and the bus driver were taken to the hospital after a crash on Friday, the Clayton Police Department said.

At around 3:15 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of South Broad Street and Clayton Avenue for a report of a crash involving two vehicles, one being a school bus.

It was determined to be a Clayton school bus that was part of the collision.

All injuries were minor, according to officials. Other students on board were all safely picked up by their parents or guardians.

The Clayton Public School District has counseling support services available on Monday for any students who may need it.

"We are incredibly grateful for the quick response and care provided," the District added in a statement.

The Gloucester County EMS, Clayton Fire Department, and officials with the Clayton School District all responded to the scene and aided in the situation.

The crash is still under review.
