Loaded Gun, Drugs Found In Car Behind Home Depot In South Jersey: Police

SICKLERVILLE, NJ — A man and woman were arrested Friday after they were found leaving a Home Depot parking lot with a loaded gun and drugs in their car, the Washington Township Police Department said.

At around 2:30 a.m., an officer on patrol noticed a vehicle leaving the back of the store and conducted a stop at nearby "Linden Transmission."

The driver told police that he was dumpster diving.

K-9 Officer Ajax assessed the car and was able to identify that drugs were inside.

Officers confiscated suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, multiple prescription medicines, and a loaded Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun.

The gun was concealed under the passenger seat, authorities added.

A man from Waterford Works, who was driving, and the passenger, a woman from Bridgeton, were both charged with weapons and drug offenses and taken to the Gloucester County Jail.
