DWI Crash, Business Theft Reported In Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — A crash that resulted in a DWI charge and the reported theft of a Ring camera were among recent incidents reported in Westfield.

Police said a Plainfield man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash around 10:30 p.m. on May 17 near West South Avenue and Drake Place.

Authorities said Jevoy Whyte, 35, of Plainfield, was charged after an investigation into the crash. He was issued summonses and released pending a required appearance in Westfield Municipal Court.

In a separate incident on May 18, a business on West South Avenue reported that a Ring camera had been stolen from inside the business.

Police said the camera was valued at approximately $120.
