Westwood Holiday Parade Registration Open: How To Join

WESTWOOD, NJ — Westwood's annual Home for the Holidays parade is returning, and local groups have limited time to sign up.

The Westwood Recreation Department announced that this year's theme is "Stars, Stripes & Holiday Lights."

The parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, stepping off at 6 p.m. on Westwood Avenue, featuring local organizations, bands, classic cars and more.

Local organizations and youth groups interested in marching or entering a float must register by Friday, Nov. 13. Space is limited, and a certificate of insurance is required.

Groups can access the registration form online or email Westwood Recreation Supervisor RoseAnn Ciarlante at rciarlante@westwoodnj.gov.

The parade will take place rain, snow or shine.

Following the parade, festivities will continue at Veterans Park with tree and menorah lightings, hot chocolate and visits with Santa, including photos courtesy of the Westwood Volunteer Fire Department.

The parade has been a Pascack Valley tradition since the 1960s, when Santa first traveled through downtown Westwood aboard a Westwood Fire Department ladder truck.

The Borough of Westwood and its Recreation, Police, Public Works and Fire Departments organize the event with community volunteers.
