A New Development Could Transform One of Wildwood's Largest Boardwalk Parking Lots (wildwoodvideoarchive.com) — A major proposal could turn the former Smitty’s Parking lot at Lincoln and Ocean, just off the Wildwood Boardwalk, into a 16‑unit residential complex with a pool. Because the plan needs multiple zoning variances, the City of Wildwood Planning/Zoning Board will consider it at a public hearing on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 6 p.m.

M16A1 Half-Track With Quad .50-Caliber Guns Now on Display at NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum (vintageaviationnews.com) — A new WWII-era M16A1 half-track with quad .50-caliber guns is now on display at the NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum in Historic Hangar No. 1 at Cape May Airport. On loan through AirFest in early September, the vehicle adds serious firepower history to the museum’s collection and gives Wildwood-area visitors another reason to explore local military aviation heritage.
3. The Life and Death of Airbrush Art in Wildwood (capemaycountyherald.com) — Wildwood’s boardwalk airbrush scene, once a staple of summer culture, has largely disappeared as rising costs and dwindling on-the-spot artistic talent shuttered longtime shops like Oxygen, Fantasy Airbrush, and High Octane. Local artists recall high-pressure nights painting memorial tees and wild designs, and how those Wildwood summers shaped their lives, careers, and even marriages.
4. Historic wartime lookout tower in Cape May County to undergo renovations (ocnjdaily.com) — Cape May County officials are backing major repairs to the WWII-era Fire Control Tower No. 23 near Sunset Beach, aiming to preserve the landmark that once watched for enemy ships off our coast. With funding from the county, state preservation grants, and support from groups including the Wildwood Naval Air Station Museum, the project will fix concrete, windows, decking, and the roof to keep the tower open to visitors.

- I’m very fortunate I guess that my dog is trained and I can walk him no matter the situation without him barking growling or pulling my arm off.
