May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month
Hackensack Meridian JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology kicked off a week of focus on community outreach

May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, dedicated to highlighting the vital role of communication and celebrating the professionals who help individuals overcome challenges. To mark the occasion, the Hackensack Meridian JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology kicked off a week of focus on community outreach and professional development.
The celebration began May 18, with a luncheon for 50 of our dedicated speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and audiologists from the Brain Trauma, Extended Recovery, and Pediatric units. The team engaged in a creative, symbolic exercise, crafting "quality bouquets" with pipe cleaners to represent the attributes they value most in their practice.
Furthering their commitment to education, the team is hosting an expert-led seminar at JFK University Medical Center to empower caregivers with crucial information on hearing protection, brain health, and oral hygiene.
