Free outdoor celebration in Veterans' Park features live performances, show tune karaoke, ticket raffles, and an exclusive sneak peek of Mel Brooks' The ProducersIn celebration of musical theater and the launch of a new theater season, the Westwood Recreation Department and Bergen County Players (BCP) are inviting residents of Westwood and nearby towns to take part in "Broadway Karaoke Night in the Park" on Saturday, September 5th from 5:30 to 8:30pm.
Held at Westwood’s historic Veterans' Park Bandstand lawn (49 Park Avenue), this free, family-friendly event invites theater lovers of all ages to step up to the microphone and belt out their favorite show tunes. The evening will conclude with a special sneak peek performance by the cast of BCP's upcoming season-opener, the Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Mel Brooks' The Producers.
Event Highlights &amp; Activities:

 <li>On-Site Karaoke Sign-ups: Open to all skill levels on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 5:30 PM.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
 <li>Season Ticket Raffle: Every karaoke participant will be automatically entered into a drawing to win free tickets to an upcoming production during BCP's 2026–2027 season.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
 <li>Community Picnic: Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets to enjoy an evening of live entertainment under the stars.</li>
</ul>
Previewing BCP's 94th Season-Opener: The Producers
The event offers a first look at BCP's production of The Producers, opening this September at the historic Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell. Based on Mel Brooks’ classic 1967 film, the record-breaking 12-time Tony Award-winning musical follows a washed-up Broadway producer and a timid accountant who scheme to turn a guaranteed flop into a financial windfall—only to accidentally create a runaway smash hit.
BCP’s production coincides with two major national milestones: the 25th anniversary of the musical’s Broadway debut and a worldwide celebration of comedy legend Mel Brooks’ 100th birthday.
All performances will be held at The Little Firehouse Theatre (298 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ), BCP’s home since 1949. Tickets and season subscriptions can be reserved online at www.bcplayers.org or by calling the box office at 201-261-4200.
Continuing its commitment to local community support, BCP will donate a portion of all proceeds from the 2026–2027 season to The Food Brigade of Paramus, NJ, an organization dedicated to providing fresh and packaged groceries and meals to local families experiencing food insecurity.

Riverdale’s Annual Labor Day Street Fair hosted by the Borough of Riverdale will be held along the Newark Pompton Turnpike from Newbury Place to Cotluss Rd. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This annual event is held on Labor Day Monday. The street will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event and will be transformed into a giant block party. 
Lots To Do If you like shopping then this is the place to be. We will have quality exhibitors selling a selection of assorted items and a special arts &amp; crafts section. There will also be live entertainment, kiddie rides &amp; games, great festival foods &amp; food trucks, and so much more. Don’t miss stopping by the many local merchants &amp; civic organizations to see what goodies they are passing out.
So Many Food Trucks Come hungry because we have over 15 food trucks and food vendors selling delicious sweet and savory gourmet foods. You can get sausage &amp; pepper sandwich, cheese steaks, kettle corn, chicken fingers, ice cream, zeppole, shish kabobs, gyros, fresh cut fries, fresh squeezed lemonade, Italian ice, oven-baked fresh pizza, and so much more. 
Live Bands As you stroll along stop to have a bite to eat and sit at tables in our live music area. See the show we have planned with live music, dancing, karate demonstrations, and more. 
Kids Area We also have the “Kidz Traveling Shindig” which is a section in the school parking lot area dedicated to children with kiddie bounce rides, slides, interactive blow-ups, face painters, sand art &amp; kids’ games just to name a few things.
This family-friendly event brings the whole community together. Come and join in the fun on Labor Day!

Metropolitan Opera Orchestra Concertmaster Benjamin Bowman, praised by The New York Times for his “beautifully singing eloquence,” joins Members of the Met Orchestra under the direction of Parlance Artistic Director Michael Parloff. Together, they reveal the youthful freshness, lyricism, and astounding artistic maturity that announced the arrival of two of music’s greatest creative voices.

Mark your calendar for the Ridgewood Fall Craft &amp; Art Street Fair, a fun family-friendly event on Sunday, September 20, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. located on East Ridgewood Ave. in downtown Ridgewood, NJ. Each year thousands attend this once-a-year street fair from near and far. Two hundred exhibitors from four states will be highlighting arts, crafts, and photography.
