• Village Board Passes Resolution Amid Critical Tank Levels Caused by Wildfire Debris (town.news) — A sudden drop in Tularosa’s water tank levels, described from Alamogordo, has triggered a formal water emergency and a strict ban on all outdoor watering. Village leaders are trucking in potable water, urging extreme indoor conservation, and warning that violations can bring steep fines or even jail time. Restrictions could last several weeks until monsoon-driven debris clears from regional water sources. 
• In Memory of Laura Ann Peek (town.news) — Family and friends in Alamogordo are mourning Laura Ann Peek, whose siblings Michelle Collins and Steven Peek still live in the city. Laura grew up partly in Cloudcroft and later Alamogordo before moving to a care home in Las Cruces, enjoying travel and community outings despite significant disabilities. Her burial at Monte Vista Cemetery will be scheduled later, and donations are requested to epilepsy-related or chosen charities.
• Las Cruces LB Denton Walter commits to UNM (abqjournal.com subscription) — UNM’s 2027 football recruiting class now includes standout Alamogordo running back Bryson Bloom, who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season with the Tigers. Bloom joins Las Cruces linebacker Denton Walter and St. Pius X back Hershul Olloway Jr. as in‑state commits, giving local fans more reason to follow Lobo football. The class also features several three‑star prospects from across the country.
