ā¢ Pet of the week: Meet CoCo, a very good girl (tricityrecordnm.com) ā Aztec pet lovers can meet CoCo, a friendly young mixedābreed dog whoās been patiently waiting at the Aztec Animal Shelter for a permanent home. The shelter is also hosting a lowācost cat spay and neuter clinic on Monday, May 4, with required ināperson preregistration at the Sabena Street facility. Itās a chance to help both your own pets and animals in local shelters.

ā¢ Animas High School students host Under One Moon Arts Festival (the-journal.com) ā Animas High School seniors are bringing a new arts festival to Tico Time River Resort in Aztec on April 25-26, with live music, dance, visual art, workshops, food trucks and vendors. Their Under One Moon Arts Festival doubles as a senior project and fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting youth arts organizations in Durango and beyond. Ā Ā Ā
ā¢ Bobcats keep perfect record in District 1-4A intact with 9-3 road win over Kirtland Central (tricityrecordnm.com) ā Aztec Highās baseball team stayed one game behind Bloomfield in the tight District 1-4A race after a 10-0 rout of Gallup, highlighted by dominant pitching from Hayden Eaton. Bloomfield still leads the district after beating Kirtland Central, with a key rematch against Aztec looming at Fred Cook Stadium. Local fans can track how these results shape Aztecās playoff hopes.
