• New Mexico wants FEMA to pay for years of wildfire recovery costs – New Mexico News Port (newmexiconewsport.com) — New Mexico is suing FEMA to secure more than $61 million for another decade of National Guard work managing flooding and debris on the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon burn scar near Las Vegas. State leaders argue federal negligence caused the fire and say northern New Mexico residents, including those around Las Vegas, shouldn't face ongoing flood dangers without full federal support.
