• Former Rio Communities police chief files lawsuit (news-bulletin.com subscription) — Rio Communities’ former and first police chief has sued the city, claiming he was fired in retaliation after raising concerns about funding, procurement, and internal conduct. The lawsuit, filed last month, also alleges the city failed to provide public records he requested. City officials say the case is under legal review and are not yet commenting on the allegations.
