• Be careful what you wish for (taosnews.com) — If you’re planning a movie night in Taos, new horror flick “Obsession” and a full slate of films are screening daily at Mitchell Storyteller 7 Cinemas on Old Talpa Cañon Road. The Taos Community Auditorium’s Big Screen series also returns this week with “The Christophers,” giving locals both multiplex and arts-center options close to home.
   

• Artists honor Route 66 centennial with statewide painting project (koat.com) — Taos painters are part of a statewide plein air project celebrating Route 66’s 100th anniversary, with regular meetups alongside groups in Las Cruces, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque. From May through August, nearly 400 artists will capture historic neon, motels, and landscapes along the Mother Road to help preserve its fading architecture and boost interest in communities along the route.
