Albany mayor proposes $355M budget with 15% property tax hike (wnyt.com) — Albany homeowners could see a 15% property tax increase under Mayor Dorcey Applyrs' proposed $355.2 million 2027 city budget, the largest in Albany's history. City leaders say the plan aims to stabilize finances while cutting $9 million in spending, but council members are already raising concerns about affordability for residents facing higher household costs.

Proposed data center divides neighbors (news10.com) — Neighbors in South Albany are sharply split over a proposal to build a four-acre data center at the historic 76-acre Kenwood site, once home to a convent and school. Developers promise limited water use, minimal pollution, and added housing and commercial space, while residents worry about energy demand, climate impacts, costs, and preserving a property filled with personal and community memories.
   

5. Albany Co. Exec. Dan McCoy retires from Army National Guard (wnyt.com) — Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, a longtime Albany firefighter and EMT, has retired from the New York Army National Guard after 37 years of service, celebrated at a Delmar ceremony.
