• Fecal Egg Count Mobile Workshops Summer 2026 (morningagclips.com) — Allegany livestock owners can attend a free hands-on fecal egg count workshop at Cornell Cooperative Extension Allegany County in Belmont on June 24, learning how to check parasite loads in sheep, goats, llamas, and alpacas. Additional sessions run across the Southwest New York region, and local residents get direct contacts for Allegany’s CCE office and the regional livestock specialist for follow-up help.

The massive World War II–era engine rolled through several nearby communities on a national tour, drawing families, rail buffs, and heavy safety preparations from local and state agencies.

• Legislature passes bill to change judicial districts a second time (dailygazette.com) — Allegany County would be grouped with eight other western New York counties in a newly created 15th state judicial district under a bill just passed again by the legislature. The plan reshapes upstate Supreme Court districts, shifts judgeships, and aims to give rural areas more representation on the bench, though critics argue it’s partisan gerrymandering and could weaken court resources in some rural counties.
