• Trustees Greenlight a Clam-Powering Season (easthamptonstar.com) — Commercial shellfishers in and around Amagansett can soon apply for special powering permits at the trustees’ Lamb Building office on Bluff Road, weekdays through June 26. Approved license holders will be allowed to harvest soft and razor clams by churning in certified town waters from June 29 through December, under strict area, timing, and reporting rules to protect sensitive habitats.

• Community Gives East Hampton Grads Big Boost (easthamptonstar.com) — East Hampton High School seniors just received about $350,000 in local scholarships, including two awards from the Amagansett Fire Department to standout graduate Aaron Bistrian. The community-funded prizes, some as large as $10,000 or more, are helping students head to college, trades, or the workforce with meaningful financial support and a strong sense of local backing.
