• Photos: Touring the Pathway of Peace at the Peace Garden in Batavia (thebatavian.com) — Visitors from an East Rochester garden club just toured Batavia’s International Peace Garden, guided by local advocates Paula Savage and Barbara Toal. If you haven’t been, the garden next to the Holland Land Office Museum offers a self-guided Pathway of Peace with interpretive panels, international flags, a Statue of Liberty replica, and a memorial walk lined with peace poles.

• GENESEE COUNTY/Batavia CTE students spend year restoring Black Creek through healthy headwaters project (videonewsservice.net) — Batavia Career and Technical Education Center students spent the school year restoring eroded banks along Black Creek, gaining hands-on conservation and job skills while improving a key local watershed. Working with Genesee County Parks and Soil & Water staff, they stabilized shorelines, removed failed structures, and planted more than 300 native shrubs during a competitive internship-style experience.
