BROOKLYN, NY — Mayor Zohran Mamdani and NYC Health + Hospitals celebrated the opening of a new Bridge to Home facility in Bed-Stuy this week.
The new facility will expand a program designed to help New Yorkers with serious mental illness transition from hospital care to stable housing and continued treatment.
Bridge to Home: Brooklyn, located near NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, will welcome its first guests this week.

At full capacity, the facility will provide private rooms for up to 50 New Yorkers, who can stay for up to 12 months or until they are connected with permanent supportive housing.
The program provides a home-like setting for patients who are ready to leave inpatient care but do not have a stable place to go.

Services include onsite clinical and behavioral health care, assistance with housing applications, substance use disorder treatment, individual and group therapy, social services and 24-hour medical support.
The first Bridge to Home facility opened in Midtown Manhattan in September 2025.
