In the 57th Assembly District Democratic primary, Phara Souffrant Forrest leads with 70.59 percent of the vote, according to the NY State Board of Elections, as early results show a wide margin over challenger Samantha N. Johnson, who holds 18.65 percent.

Forrest received 12,301 votes as tabulation closed across all reporting districts. Johnson received 3,249 votes.

The remaining ballots included 9.91 percent blank votes, alongside 0.73 percent write-in and 0.11 percent void ballots, reflecting 17,425 total votes counted.
