More than 20 fellows each summer assist local groups focused on workers' rights, sustainability, equity, and neighborhood revitalization, meaning this funding helps sustain on-the-ground support and fresh energy for grassroots projects citywide.

'Curtain Up!' kicks off Buffalo's theater season Friday night (wkbw.com) — 'Curtain Up!' launches Buffalo's new theater season Friday night with a downtown cocktail party, nine productions, and a free late-night street festival in the Theater District. Residents can buy tickets online, enjoy food trucks and live entertainment, and are encouraged to explore different Western New York theaters throughout the year using the full schedule on the association's website.
   

3. 'It's an honor': Buffalo's Salud Market owner featured on Latinas Evolving cover (wkbw.com) — A Main Street entrepreneur in Buffalo is getting national recognition as Salud Market owner Marielyn Santiago Miller lands the cover of Latinas Evolving magazine. Her neighborhood store continues focusing on affordable, healthy food and nutrition education, especially for Black and brown residents, and she hopes to use the spotlight to mentor new local business owners and further grow the market's community impact.
   

4. Metallica Announce 2027 Tour With Limp Bizkit + Avatar (noisecreep.com) — Metallica is bringing their 2027 M72 stadium tour to Buffalo, with a June 8 show at Highmark Stadium featuring support from Limp Bizkit and Avatar. The tour follows their Las Vegas Sphere residency and hits just 12 North American cities, giving local fans a rare chance to see the band's in-the-round football-field stage setup close to home.
   

5. Buffalo Next: 43North Foundation gives $1.5M for internship program support (buffalonews.com) — A Buffalo Next business report highlights a $1.5 million commitment from the 43North Foundation to support internship programs, aiming to strengthen local talent pipelines.
