Chautauqua County Health Department Advises Residents Following Second Confirmed Measles Case in Erie County, New York (chautauquacountyny.gov) — Chautauqua County’s Health Department is warning residents after Erie County confirmed a second measles case, with possible exposure sites in Buffalo earlier this month. Locals are urged to verify MMR vaccinations, watch for symptoms, and call healthcare providers before visiting if they suspect exposure. Officials recommend monitoring Erie County’s website and contacting the county health department with questions.

Covert Ends BC3 Golf Career With Low Score At Nationals (ellwoodcity.org) — A national junior college golf championship at Chautauqua Golf Club’s Lake Course in Chautauqua, N.Y., capped standout careers for Butler County Community College golfers Mitchell Covert and Taylor Voloch. Several BC3 players posted improved scores over last year as Sandhills Community College and the College of DuPage captured the men’s and women’s team titles and individual medalists finished well under par.

3. JHS teachers to host social responsibility summit trip in 2027 (post-journal.com) — Chautauqua County students have a chance to join Jamestown High School teachers on a 2027 Global Leadership Summit trip to Europe focused on social responsibility. The program includes leadership training with peers worldwide, a keynote by Malala Yousafzai, and visits to historic sites like concentration camps to deepen empathy and global awareness. Any county student, and even accompanying adults, can learn more and register online.

4. Governor Hochul Announces Nearly $140 Million in Federal Funding for Counterterrorism and Emergency Preparedness Efforts (einpresswire.com) — Chautauqua County is set to receive multiple federal grants, including over $100,000 in State Homeland Security funds, $180,000 through Operation Stonegarden, and nearly $45,000 from an emergency management grant. These awards, part of nearly $140 million statewide, will bolster local counterterrorism efforts, disaster planning, training, and equipment for first responders and emergency managers across the county.
