• Cohoes works on fix for water disinfection system after violation (timesunion.com) — Cohoes officials are working under a state violation notice to upgrade the city’s aging water disinfection system, which hasn’t been mixing enough chlorine into Mohawk River drinking water. While the city and state say there’s no emergency or boil-water order, vulnerable residents are urged to be cautious, and neighboring Waterford has temporarily stopped using Cohoes water while fixes and funding are pursued.

• Police: 2 adults, 3 teens charged with criminal weapons possession in Cohoes (wnyt.com) — Cohoes police say two adults and three teens face multiple felony weapon charges after officers stopped a U-Haul near Congress and White streets and found a loaded ghost gun inside. The suspects from Cohoes and Albany were detained with help from State Police and Green Island officers, with the adults held on high bail and the juveniles sent to secure detention.
