Catfish Annie's To Close In Commack As Owner Retires
The longtime family-owned seafood market and restaurant will serve its final meals at the end of August.

COMMACK, NY — Catfish Annie’s, a longtime family-owned seafood market and restaurant in Commack, will close at the end of August as owner Kathleen Annunziato retires.
Annunziato announced the decision Thursday in a message to customers on the restaurant’s Instagram page, thanking the community for decades of support.
“Hello Commack community and beyond. We would like to thank you all for 45 years of love, friendship, and laughs,” Annunziato wrote. “I have decided to hang up my apron and retire at the end of August.”

Catfish Annie’s, located at 116 Commack Road, operates as both a fresh seafood market and a casual dine-in and takeout restaurant. The business says on its website and Instagram page that it has been family-owned since 1977.
Annunziato said her children, nephews and longtime kitchen staff helped her continue operating the restaurant following the death of her husband, Anthony, in 2024.

“We have made some beautiful memories with you all,” she wrote. “My children, nephews, and long time kitchen staff have helped me continue the business since my husband Anthony passed away in 2024. I know he is proud of us, and I know he agrees it is time too.”
Annunziato invited longtime customers to visit the restaurant for one final meal before it closes.
Customers who still have Catfish Annie’s gift certificates are being asked to use them by the last week of August.
“Please stop in and share one last meal with us,” Annunziato wrote. “Thank you once again for all the support and love you have showed my family and I these past 45 years.”
Reaction to the announcement quickly poured in on social media, with customers sharing memories of the restaurant and saying they would miss its seafood.
