• Valmont Survivors Park opens in Commack, honoring cancer survivors and loved ones (news12.com) — A new Valmont Survivors Park has opened along Marie Crescent in Commack, giving local cancer survivors, families, and supporters a dedicated place for reflection and hope. Spearheaded by Commack resident Thomas Morrissey and supported by groups like Commack Community Alliance, the ribbon-shaped park features paths, benches, and a bell survivors can ring after treatment, with future fundraising aimed at helping local families facing cancer challenges.
   

• High school roundup: Girls volleyball, soccer, field hockey and boys badminton (newsday.com) — Commack's girls volleyball team notched a 3–1 win over Whitman, led by standout defensive and serving numbers from Ava Khan and strong contributions from teammates Natalie Pisani and Olivia Pagano. The roundup also recaps other Long Island volleyball, soccer, field hockey, and badminton results, giving a quick snapshot of how neighboring schools are performing this week.
