• Boat Catches Fire, Drifts Toward Bulkhead In Bay Shore: FD (patch.com) — A boat caught fire and drifted dangerously close to a bulkhead near Bay Shore Marina, drawing a quick response from multiple agencies, including a mutual aid fireboat from the East Islip Fire Department. Firefighters secured the unoccupied vessel, extinguished the engine-compartment blaze, and cleared the scene in under an hour, though the cause remains under investigation.
