The proposal wrestles with how strictly to regulate containment, who pays when bamboo spreads across property lines, and how to enforce rules fairly through the town's civil adjudication system.

Stolen Trailer Located, Driver Is Charged (easthamptonstar.com) — East Hampton Village police recently arrested a Southampton man after spotting him towing a trailer reported stolen from Southampton, leading to a felony stolen-property charge. In a separate case, a Sag Harbor man stopped in the village faces felony drug and DWI charges tied to incidents in both the village and East Hampton Town, with both men released pending future court dates.
