• Remembering The Pelican Disaster in Montauk (eastendbeacon.com) — A recent ceremony at Montauk Point Lighthouse honored the 45 lives lost in the 1951 Pelican fishing disaster, with East Hampton High School sophomore Faith Mullaly performing a hymn and East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez attending. Families of victims, local clergy, and officials gathered for prayers, remembrances, and the launch of a new 75th anniversary edition of "Dark Noon," which supports the Montauk Historical Society.
