A $1.06 million state grant will fund more flexible bus service in Ulster County (hudsonvalleyone.com) ā Ellenville will be the first Ulster County community to get a new on-demand microtransit bus service in early 2027, funded by a $1.06 million state grant. The flexible UCAT service will help residents without cars reach doctors, groceries, school events, and connect to regular bus routes, with expansion to other towns possible if the pilot succeeds.

Wawarsing Estates Law Officially Rolled Back (shawangunkjournal.com) ā Wawarsingās town board has officially rolled back a zoning change that would have let the long-stalled Wawarsing Estates project shift from 55-plus housing to general market rentals after 60 days. The move follows strong resident pushback and calls for a fresh environmental review, even as the developer argues the best spot for new affordable housing is between Ellenville and Kerhonkson.

5. Gun Seizures and Drug Charges in Sullivan County Crackdown (newsatomic.com) ā Two Ellenville residents were arrested on felony drug charges during a recent multi-agency traffic crackdown in Sullivan County that also netted a huge weapons seizure. The operation, focused on illegal license plates, led to narcotics arrests, 219 traffic citations, 25 impounded vehicles, and the confiscation of 89 firearms now under federal investigation.
