• Galway CSD's bus driver instructor honored amid driver shortages (dailygazette.com) — Galway Central School District’s longtime safety coordinator and bus driver instructor, Mary “Crissy” Ogden, has been named New York’s 2026 School Bus Driver Instructor of the Year, recognizing training work that began in Galway in 2005. Her efforts to recruit and prepare new drivers come as Galway and districts statewide struggle with persistent school bus driver shortages and route coverage challenges. 
• Deposit/Hancock Softball honored ahead of Rumble Ponies Game (binghamtonhomepage.com) — A New York Class C state softball title game saw Deposit/Hancock edge Galway 4–3, and that championship squad was just honored before a Binghamton Rumble Ponies game. Galway’s narrow loss still puts the community’s team on the map in statewide play, highlighting the level of competition local athletes are facing.
