Garden City Students Rally For Cancer Patients At Hoops For Hope Fundraiser

The event united the GC community in honor of Bobby Menges.

GARDEN CITY, NY — Garden City High School hosted its annual Hoops for Hope fundraiser on Monday in honor of student Bobby Menges, who passed away from cancer in 2017.

All proceeds from the event benefited the I'm Not Done Yet Foundation's programs, which help adolescent and young adult cancer patients and survivors at NYU Langone - Long Island.

The event was organized by GCHS student Katherine O’Hanlon and featured the high school and middle school Challenger basketball team.

Students, families, administrators, and community members came together to support the cause, creating a spirited atmosphere.

The halftime show featured the GC spirit cheerleaders, varsity cheerleaders, varsity kickline dancers, and junior varsity kickline dancers.

There were also raffles, bake sales, themed baskets, and activities.
