The celebration will recognize members with 50-plus years of service and feature live entertainment, food, and refreshments for families.
   

4. ICYMI: Rep. Gillen Delivers Millions in Federal Funding, Meets with Law Enforcement and Long Islanders Throughout August (house.gov) — Garden City residents should know Rep. Laura Gillen joined Garden City police for patrol ride‑alongs while announcing millions in new federal funding for Nassau County water, public safety, libraries, and houses of worship. She also met with local small businesses and hosted a healthcare roundtable, emphasizing bipartisan work and efforts to lower costs for Long Island families.
   

5. 5th Precinct cracks down on reckless e-bike riding (liherald.com) — If you live in or near Garden City South, police are now aggressively impounding illegally used e-bikes and urging residents to report dangerous riding in real time. At a Community League of Garden City South meeting, 5th Precinct leaders detailed new enforcement tactics, social‑media monitoring of youth gatherings, and the crucial role parents and neighbors play in preventing crashes.
