• Manhasset, NY, Erasmo Troia, 29, Law Enforcement Officer, Dies After Being Found Deceased (theunionstar.com) — Glen Cove residents are mourning 29-year-old former NYPD officer Erasmo Troia, who later served with the Glen Cove Police Department and was recently found deceased in Manhasset. Colleagues recall his dedication to public safety, from his Explorer days and Glenwood Fire Department volunteering to multiple NYPD commendations and his swearing-in at a Glen Cove City Council meeting. Official details on his death and funeral plans are still pending.
   

• New Ranking Of Long Island's Top 15 Public High Schools Released By U.S. News (patch.com) — Glen Cove's North Shore Senior High School has been ranked No. 11 in New York and No. 686 nationwide in U.S. News & World Report's latest Best High Schools list. The report highlights strong graduation rates, test performance, and college readiness across Long Island, placing North Shore among an elite group of 15 top-performing public high schools in the region.
   

• Brookville trustees vote for LOSAP funding increase request (longislandpress.com) — A nearby Brookville trustees meeting touched on an issue many Glen Cove drivers know well: heavy rush-hour traffic on Route 107, one of only two ways out of the city. Trustees backed a funding increase request for a volunteer firefighter retirement program and heard updates on upcoming water line replacements, while residents pressed officials about safety concerns on the busy Glen Cove route.
