Authorities describe a yearlong investigation, multiple arrests, and serious felony charges that could bring long prison terms, underscoring ongoing concerns about overdoses and street-level dealing in the area.
   

3. Suozzi, Leader DeRiggi-Whitton, and Mayor Villafane Announce Expansion of Sea Cliff Sewer System (house.gov) — Just up the road from Glen Cove, officials announced a $6.5 million expansion of Sea Cliff's sewer system, backed partly by federal funds secured by Congressman Tom Suozzi and county bonds championed by Glen Cove's legislator Delia DeRiggi‑Whitton. The project will convert more homes from septic to sewers, aiming to cut nitrogen pollution and improve water quality in Hempstead Harbor and Long Island Sound, which benefits Glen Cove's shoreline too.

MARAD Designates 16 New Centers Of Excellence To Strengthen Maritime Workforce (oceannews.com) — Glen Cove's Webb Institute has been named a 2026 Center of Excellence by the U.S. Maritime Administration, spotlighting the school as a key hub for training future mariners. The federal designation, part of a nationwide expansion, connects Webb students to a broader pipeline of maritime workforce programs and underscores Long Island's role in supporting America's shipping and shipbuilding industries.
