• Scotia-Glenville works to decrease speed outside Glendaal as parents worry (dailygazette.com) — Parents in Glenville are pushing to lower the 45 mph speed limit on Sacandaga Road near Glendaal Elementary as Glen-Worden students, many with disabilities, move there next fall. The Scotia-Glenville district and state DOT are reviewing options like reduced speeds, flashing lights, and added fencing to improve safety in the busy school zone. 
• Schenectady County opens cooling centers amidst heatwave (dailygazette.com) — With temperatures soaring into the high 90s, Glenville residents can cool off for free at the Glenville Branch Library on Glenridge Road and the Glenville Senior Center on Worden Road during regular hours. The county also lists additional libraries, senior centers, and splash pads in nearby communities that are open as cooling centers throughout the heatwave.
