Man accused of stealing checks from Greece mailbox (13wham.com) — Greece police say a man is accused of stealing and altering checks from a mailbox along Latta Road, with the funds later cashed around Monroe and nearby counties. Detectives have tracked the pattern since early March and arrested a Niagara County resident, with more charges still possible as the investigation continues. 
2. Rochester Police Department has 120 officer openings while neighboring towns are nearly fully staffed (whec.com) — Police staffing in Greece is nearly at its target of 100 officers, even as Rochester struggles with 120 vacancies and a shrinking pool of recruits. Local chiefs describe how fewer civil service candidates and a long hiring process are slowing departments across Monroe County. Greece residents can expect a fully staffed force after the latest academy graduates are hired.

Gates police identify motorcyclist killed in crash on Elmgrove Road (13wham.com) — A 31-year-old Greece resident, Scott Kruppenbacher, was killed Monday morning in a motorcycle crash on Elmgrove Road in nearby Gates. Police say another vehicle was involved and that driver is cooperating, and they’re asking anyone who saw the collision to contact the Gates Police Department with information.
