• National Grid to pause shutoffs in Capital Region during extreme heat (cbs6albany.com) — If you live in Green Island and fall behind on your National Grid electric bill, your power won’t be shut off during stretches of extreme heat this summer. When the heat index is forecast at 90 degrees or higher, disconnections will pause in Green Island and other designated “heat islands” and remain paused for two days afterward, with payment-assistance programs also available.
