Staff say he’s a gentle senior who shouldn’t spend his remaining years in a cage and are urgently seeking a new, loving home for him. Locals can call or visit the Old Riverhead Road shelter to meet him. 
• Lighting up the skies to celebrate our heritage (trihamletnews.com) — Fireworks by Grucci is planning 54 shows nationwide for America’s 250th birthday, including one right here in Hampton Bays alongside other Long Island locations. The family company describes massive Las Vegas productions, drone-enhanced displays, and careful safety and environmental planning. Hampton Bays residents can expect to be part of an especially big Fourth of July celebration this year.
