Illegal Turn Leads To 3-Vehicle Hauppauge Crash, Woman Seriously Hurt: PD
A 68-year-old Lake Grove woman suffered serious injuries in the Route 347 crash Saturday morning, police said.
HAUPPAUGE, NY — A 68-year-old Lake Grove woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on Route 347 in Hauppauge Saturday morning after another driver made an illegal left turn, Suffolk County police said.
The crash happened at the intersection of Route 347 and Route 111 at about 9:46 a.m., police said.
Marta Pineda, 45, of Brentwood, was driving a 2008 Acura SUV east on Route 347 when she attempted to make an illegal left turn north onto Route 111, police said.

The Acura struck a 2019 Toyota SUV traveling west in the left lane of Route 347, causing the Toyota to strike a 2020 Hyundai sedan traveling west to its right, police said.
Nancy Garcia, 68, of Lake Grove, who was a passenger in the Toyota, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

The Toyota's driver, Raymond Garcia, 68, also of Lake Grove, was taken to the same hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Pineda was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with minor injuries, police said.
The Hyundai's driver, Matthew Wu, 29, of Lake Grove, was not injured.
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Pineda received several summonses, including one for an improper turn, police said.
Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating the crash.
