Suffolk Legislature Meetings Moved After July 4 Storm Knocks Out Power

Monday and Tuesday committee meetings will be held in Hauppauge after a power outage at the Riverhead County Center, officials say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Suffolk County Legislature committee meetings scheduled for Monday, July 6, and Tuesday, July 7, have been moved to Hauppauge after weekend storms left the Riverhead County Center without power, officials said.

The affected meetings will be held in the Rose Y. Caracappa Auditorium of the William H. Rogers Legislature Building, located at 725 Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge.

Committee meetings scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9, will remain at the Maxine S. Postal Auditorium in the Evans K. Griffing Building at the Riverhead County Center, as originally scheduled, according to the legislature.

Agenda items for the week include proposals related to public safety, water quality, farmland preservation, county infrastructure, contract agency funding and appointments to county advisory boards.

Monday, July 6, in Hauppauge:
Environment, Parks & Agriculture, 9:30 a.m.; Public Works, Transportation & Energy, 11 a.m.; Veterans, noon.

Tuesday, July 7, in Hauppauge:

Budget & Finance, 9:30 a.m. The Seniors & Human Services Committee and Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services & Preparedness Committee meetings have been canceled due to the lack of pending business.
