A landslide expert explains how local conditions, drainage, and freeze-thaw cycles raise the danger and urges residents living near slopes or stream channels to watch for warning signs and seek professional help.
   

• Batavia, Irondequoit, Victor receive NYS revitalization funding (rbj.net) — Irondequoit is getting $4.5 million in New York State NY Forward funding to revitalize the Titus Avenue–Cooper Road–Hudson Avenue commercial district with better streetscapes and redevelopment. The same program is sending $10 million to Batavia and $4.5 million to Victor, but local leaders here will focus on improving housing, public spaces, and walkability in that key business corridor.
