• Tenants and dogs escape from animal shelter fire in Brewster (midhudsonnews.com) — Lake Carmel firefighters were among several departments that rushed to help contain a fire at the SNARR Northeast animal rescue home on Sodom Road in Brewster, preventing the blaze from spreading beyond one room. Several residents and dogs were displaced but, thanks to the quick multi-agency response and Red Cross support, no people or animals were injured.
