Halfmoon woman charged with manslaughter for death of 10-year-old son (saratogian.com) — A Halfmoon woman has been charged with manslaughter after her 10-year-old son’s January death, and she was arraigned in Malta Town Court before being sent to Saratoga County Jail. Investigators allege she gave the child excessive diphenhydramine and then hid a bottle of the drug, prompting strong statements from the sheriff about pursuing justice.

Super DIRTcar Series Opens Championship Season at Albany-Saratoga Speedway (saratogatodaynewspaper.com) — Racing fans in Malta can catch the Super DIRTcar Series season opener Friday night at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, with a 61-lap feature and $6,100 top prize. Woman arrested on drug charges in Malta (newportdispatch.com) — A recent traffic stop on Route 9P in Malta led to felony drug and child endangerment charges against a Hoosick Falls woman, according to county officials. Deputies say she was arrested Sunday afternoon, arraigned in Malta Town Court, and released on her own recognizance while the case proceeds under New York’s current bail rules.
   

4. Man arrested on felony charge in Corinth (newportdispatch.com) — A Malta resident is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after an early-morning incident in Corinth, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say the 25-year-old was arrested on an aggravated family offense and criminal contempt, then released to pretrial services while the case continues in Corinth Town Court.
