• Town partners with community group to collect peanut butter (jericho-news-journal.com) — Massapequa residents can support local families by dropping off peanut butter and similar spreads at Town Hall South on Hicksville Road from October 1 through November 15. The Town of Oyster Bay and the Massapequa Farmingdale Men's Club are teaming up again to restock area food pantries, accepting peanut butter, alternative nut butters, and jelly at several town facilities during business hours.
   

• Obituary: Nancy Fraser (greenwichsentinel.com) — A woman who grew up in Massapequa and Amityville is remembered for a life devoted to education, community involvement, athletics, and a deep love of New York and Virginia. Her story highlights years as a teacher and administrator, her passion for running, swimming, gardening, and sports fandom, and her commitment to fairness and animals. She was interred in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, in September.
