• VIDEO: 2 Suffer Minor Injuries In Merrick House Fire: FD (patch.com) — A late-night house fire on Merrick Avenue left two residents with minor injuries and their home uninhabitable, according to fire marshals. About 75 firefighters from Merrick, North Merrick and neighboring departments brought the blaze under control in roughly 90 minutes, and the Red Cross and local building department are now assisting as investigators determine the cause.
